NUTRITION THERAPY WITH A REGISTERED DIETITIAN NUTRITIONIST
FOR EATING DISORDERS, DISORDERED EATING & BODY IMAGE SUPPORT
Hi there! My name is Nick Funk!
I am an anti-diet, Health At Every Size ® (HAES) informed Registered Dietitian who is committed to helping people heal in their recovery from Eating Disorders, Disordered Eating, and a negative relationship with their body and food.
I believe that we don’t need to shrink ourselves to be loved and accepted. ALL bodies are valuable, worthy, and deserving of love and respect. I know that society can make us feel the opposite, but I want to help you confront that belief. Diet culture shouldn’t get to run our lives. Together we can work to resist diet culture and rebuild that connection between your mind and body that allows you to be present and enjoy the experience of eating again.
You deserve to heal and find peace.
A journey to healing takes many different paths, and it is not linear. It often takes many twists and turns and is full of triumphs and challenges. Let’s work together to challenge diet culture and heal your relationship with food!
“Your body knows what it wants and needs. Reconnect, trust, and listen to it.”
Nick's Counseling Style & Approach
In our work, I love to use a combination of approaches during our sessions. Mainly we will focus on the principles of Health At Every Size ® (HAES), the all foods fit model, and intuitive eating.
My approaches are rooted in compassionate curiosity and nonjudgmental, unwavering validation of your lived experience. I am here to support you and always meet you where you’re at. We will work together to help you challenge eating disorder thoughts, battle against diet culture, and rebuild that connection between your mind and body that allows you to enjoy food again.
Teens (14+) and adults who have eating disorders, struggle with disordered eating, or are stuck in a diet cycle and want to heal their relationship with food and their bodies
Other areas of specialty and special interest include:
