Meet Mackenzie!

Currently Accepting New Clients In-Person in Horsham, PA and Virtually in Pennsylvnia, New Jersey & More!

Hi there! My name is Mackenzie Proctor!

I’m a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist who specializes in treating Eating Disorders, Disordered Eating and Body Image Healing.

I work with adolescents and teens (13+) and adults of all ages.

  • Are you looking for support in your recovery from an eating disorder or disordered eating?
  • Are you a soon-to-be or already-there parent worried about how to feed your child while also managing your relationship to food?
  • Do you have a diabetes, or other chronic medical conditions, and feeling confused about how to feed yourself?
  • Are you interested in exploring more about Intuitive Eating but don’t know where to start?

If you answered yes to any of the above questions, I may be the right clinician for you!

I believe that the diet culture really is the worst and that you (yes, you!) can make peace with your body and food. Together we can work through some of the complex aspects of healing this relationship by combining Intuitive Eating practices and principles of Health at Every Size ®.

Healing is a journey, not a destination. It will be difficult, it will challenge you and it will have you exploring everything that makes you, you.

You are deserving and worthy of this journey and I promise, it will be so worth it.

Let’s shift the focus from restrictive dieting practices and whatever weird perception of “health” society has placed on you and get you back to trusting yourself and achieving food freedom!

You may be asking yourself, can I still work with you if I don’t have a diagnosed eating disorder, or fit into the criteria above?” And the answer is, ABSOLUTELY. Schedule a FREE discovery call now so we can see if we’re the right fit for you!

I know that reaching out probably feels terrifying, but you’ve already done one of the hardest parts…

being here now and reaching out for help!

Are you tired of feeling like you don’t have the willpower to succeed in a diet, or in your eating disorder?

Are you tired of your disordered eating taking you away from aspects of life that you really enjoy?

Do you ever feel like your relationship to food ruins your ability to be an active participant in your life?

Are you tired of the constant anxiety & thoughts about food, calories, and how to shrink your body?

Food is meant to be enjoyed and you are so deserving of experiencing that joy.

At your pace. With your own goals. I am here to help guide you to reclaim trust in your body.

You deserve to eat because you’re breathing

Mackenzie's Counseling Style & Approach

In our work, I love to use a combination of approaches during our sessions, most of which are firmly rooted in compassionate care and an unwavering support and validation of your lived experience.

In our sessions, we will embark on an exploration of your thoughts and feelings as it relates to food, nutrition and your relationship to it, as well as your relationship to your body. We will often work together to identify barriers, make connections between past experiences and current beliefs held around food and your body.

More About Mackenzie (aka Fun Facts!)

I’m very fun… only until about 9pm though! I am a mother to a tiny human, I love cooking, baking and most importantly, eating. I have type 1 diabetes, I am a crazy plant lady and I used to live in Colorado. While I lived there, I was an avid hiker and even climbed a 14,000 foot mountain once!

Professional Background & Credentials

Mackenzie received her Bachelor of Science in Nutrition and Dietetics from Metropolitan State University of Denver. After completing her Dietetic Internship, she accepted a clinical position at a community hospital just outside of Denver, Colorado. She went on to relocate from Denver to Philly in 2019, this time choosing to work in food service as a campus dietitian at Drexel University. It was here, working with young adults that she recognized the harm of diet culture on such a vulnerable population. Mackenzie is passionate about helping others heal their relationships to food by making the experience approachable and fulfilling again.
